CONGRESO INTERNACIONAL DE EDUCACIÓN MATEMÁTICA
El Congreso Internacional de Educación Matemática [International Congress on Mathematical Education (ICME)] se lleva a cabo cada 4 años bajo el auspicio de la International Commission on Mathematical Instruction (ICMI). Para mayor información visite la página: http://www.mathunion.org/ICMI
No obstante, se planifica y organiza por comités independientes del ICMI. El propósito del congreso es presentar la situación actual y las tendencias de la investigación en la educación matemática en todos los niveles. El congreso integrará una gran cantidad de participantes desde investigadores en educación matemática, formadores de educadores, educadores, matemáticos y otros interesados en la educación matemática.
HISTORIA DEL ICME
El Congreso Internacional de Educación Matemática se realiza cada 4 años, patrocinado por el ICMI. Los anteriores fueron los siguientes:

ICME 11 se va a llevar a cabo en Monterrey, México, 6 - 13 de Julio, 2008. Participarán entre 3000 y 4000 profesionales de 100 países en la educación matemática incluyendo investigadores, educadores y maestros. ICME pretende:
- Mostrar lo que pasa en la educación matemática en el mundo en términos de investigación así como de prácticas de enseñanza.
- Informar acerca de los problemas de la educación matemática en todo el planeta.
- Aprender de los más recientes avances en las matemáticas como una disciplina.
